Seychelles in the Philippines

Seychelles is so excited to announce our presence in the Philippines. We have had fans in the country for years, but no easy way for them to purchase Seychelles. After much thought and research, and a lot of hard work, we are pleased to say our shoes are finally available! Seychelles can currently be purchased at Itsie Bitsie Boutique in Rockwell Center, Makati City. There's also an online site that's coming soon! Here's a clipping from a local paper in Manila.

You can also read the following blog posts about our opening and the local pop up shop:

The Loved One Photoshoot

We just adore these photos of The Loved One's newest team member, Ashley, that we had to share. Love that they featured the "Make a Scene" heels in black, too! It's a popular favorite for our team as well!

You can see other photos from their shoot here and shop "Make a Scene" on their website here!

Neo-Now

One trend inspiring us for fall is Neo-Now. It's a twist on modernism with classic black and colored leather. We love how the colored leather trend is also creeping into clothing for the upcoming season. Leather makes such a clean and bold statement and these following styles are some of our favorites:

We Can Do It! A Look at Women in the Workplace

As we embark on Labor Day weekend it's important to remember what the holiday is all about. While unofficially Labor Day marks the end of summer, it also celebrates a historical movement in the American workplace. The holiday draws attention to the social and economic contributions of our country's workers, both male and female. We also want to note the great strides women have taken to stand up for their rights in the workplace. As we celebrate this holiday with family and friends let's also be proud of the developments of fair wage, proper working conditions and the freedom to organize. Here are some historical moments of the women's labor movement:

This is an image taken in 1910 for a newspaper. It shows a woman speaking out and fighting for the Book-keepers, Stenographer's and Accountant's Union.

In 1937 there was a Corset Workers' Strike. Members of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union walked in their corsets to help draw attention to the cause.

Rosie the Riveter. When the United States entered World War II, women were greatly needed in the workplace as many men went oversees. The government decided to launch a propaganda campaign with the fictional "Rosie the Riveter" image to help get women into the workplace. After the war many women left the workplace to return to the home, but the road was paved and society continued to use Rosie as a strong female character fighting for her rights.

The Bakery, Confectionery and Tobacco Union Protest took place in Atlanta on International Women's Day in 1984 to protest Ronald Reagan's policies.

The state of today's workplace has greatly improved and as working women ourselves we're proud of the advances. Whether you work in a business or in the home, you go girl!

The following shoes are our favorites to wear in the office:

What to Wear Wednesday

Today we're dreaming of this pretty lace dress from our friends at ModCloth. We think it would look so cute with our "Tell Me More" cat flats. These flats add some fun personality and the crystal detail is subtle enough or everyday. It's the perfect polished outfit for a day at work or a dinner date! Pair it with this red floral necklace and you're good to go!

Week in Instagram

This week was in short...crazy. We had our big Spring 2014 photo shoot, this time with BUNNIES! It was a lot of running around, putting props together, steaming outfits and overall hustling. But somehow we got it all done and that was only Monday. Make sure to follow us on Instagram to see the behind the scenes video and all the chaos.

Happy weekend everyone!

Hang on!

Whenever I don't have a specific spot for my jewelry, it opens the door to a jumbo knotted pile of mess. Even worse is when I lose just ONE earring and there goes that set. I finally gave up and decided I really should get a jewelry hanger, and these ones are actually really cute! I always assumed I didn't have that much jewelry, but turns out it was just all hiding in random corners, purses and pockets. Trust me on this, these things are life savers, and help save so much time when getting ready in the morning!

OMG Bunnies

Normally Mondays are a very dreaded day of the week, however this week Monday was long anticipated. Yesterday we had our annual photo shoot in preparation for our Spring 2014 Collection (shh top secret for now!). Our Creative Director made the best casting call for our shoot and got us BUNNIES! Excuse us while we all squealed at that thought.

We were able to get in contact with Michelle Kelly, the founder of the wonderful organization Los Angeles Rabbit Foundation (www.larabbits.org) in hopes of using some of their adorable rescues and hopefully spreading the word of the good work they do.

Their mission statement declares their goals "To help abandoned domestic rabbits by promoting spay and neuter, providing education on their care, volunteering in shelters and humane societies, and by fostering and rehabilitating rescued rabbits until such time as suitable permanent homes can be found." We couldn't be happier to promote such a worthy foundation.

After some time we decided that Didi and Chuckie, would be the perfect models for our shoot. How cute are these two, they're brother and sister and have been together since birth.

The siblings arrived just on time ready for their shoots. We were careful to not frighten or
stress them too much. Michelle informed us that rabbits can die from a heart attacked if they're frightened. We made it our priority to keep them calm and go at their pace.

Didi calmly getting her hair done pre shoot.

Didi and the model got along really well, as Didi settled in and got comfy in her lap. She's a born model!

Chuckie did a wonderful job inspecting our set, doesn't he look adorable!

We had such a great time meeting these two cuties and hearing about the wonderful LA Rabbits Foundation from Michelle. Didi and Chuckie are both adoptable as well as a number of other bunnies at www.larabbits.org. If you've been considering a rabbit for a pet, definitely take a look into the LA Rabbits Foundation and their weekly rabbit adoption for more information and possibly rescuing one of their loving rabbits.

Week in Instagram

This week has been a flurry of colors, patterns and of course SHOES. We've been prepping for a photo shoot and personally making a lot of our props in preparation. I'm pretty sure I'm
covered in Mod Podge glue, flowers, paint and pretty paper this week.

How was your week!

Friday Finds: White & Metallics

Today marks the longest day of year, also known as the Summer's Solstice. For me this just means summer is officially in full gear and I couldn't be any more excited! With longer days the sun is still out when I get off work and its perfect for date nights and bonfires. This summer I'm deeply in love with the clean simple look of whites and metallics. You can't go wrong with a white summer dress and some rose gold heels :).

Week in Instagram

Happy Friday everyone :)! This week in instagram started a little early with our Sunday trip to the Rose Bowl Flea Market. The rest of the week seemed to zoom by in slow motion, does anyone else feel that way? Don't forget this Sunday is Father's Day, even though we don't have any cute shoes for our dads...we hope you have a great weekend celebrating!

Friday Finds: Spray Paint DIY

Hello all!

As I had mentioned last week, I'm currently in the process of redecorating/revamping my bedroom. Like with all projects, sticking to your budget can be a difficult task. In order to stay within my budget but still get creative, I've resorted to the wonderful Pinterest community for diy ideas. With a little searching I've discovered how much a little can of spray paint can do for your old items!

Here's a few wonderful tutorials:

1. Orange Milking Stool
2. Neon Pink Pitcher
3. Neon Pink Pots (unfortunately this was an image without a DIY, but I believe some painters tape and spray paint is all you need!)
4. Mint & Gold Teacup
5. Gold Chevron Vase
6. Yellow Tipped Shoes (also just an image without a DIY *curse you pinterest* probably some tape, primer and bright spray paint is all you need)
7. Coral Folding Chair

Pie Heaven

Last night I had one of THE best pies ever at Flo's V8 Cafe in California Adventure. Flo's cafe is categorized as a classic American cafe, and from reviews the pies are a must try. First of all how could I say no to pie, and second of all how could I say no to dessert!

The 3 flavors they featured were Apple Cheddar, Mud Pie and Seasonal Fruit. Though the cast members said the Apple Cheddar was surprisingly good (think of it as a bit of sweet apple pie with a sharp tang from the cheddar) I couldn't get past the cheese. I opted for the Seasonal Fruit pie and was given a blueberry peach pie.

This pie was the perfect little serving size and a heavenly combination of fruit. The pies were served warmed, which made for the perfect cozy dessert on a cold night.  Now that I'm pie-less at work, I've been craving creating my own little pies.

Here are some amazing recipes I've found that I can't wait to try:

What's your favorite pie flavor or pie fruit combination?

Weekend Adventures!

This weekend marked the second Sunday of the month! For those who are new to the Rose Bowl Flea Market, every 2nd Sunday of each month Pasadena hosts this amazing flea market. Luckily for me I actually remembered this time around before it was too late. I've been dying to check it out each month but weekends seem to fly by, crammed with too many things to do. Not this weekend!

As with most flea markets, the earlier you wish to go (say 5 AM) the more expensive the admission tickets usually were. I decided to wait it out and head to the market around noon (soon to be a horrible decision). It costs $8 for anyone interested in going next month :). My suggestion would be 1. bring a hat or umbrella 2. a game plan 3. water.

 How adorable are these tickets!

The great thing about all flea markets is that you'll always find something for you.

Too bad I had no use for this amazing camera light.

Most everyone had on sunglasses and a hat, I definitely made the rookie mistake of having neither. We were melting in minutes.

See even this bear had a hat, next time I won't forget!

I stumbled across this one booth that carried various old signs and cards.
Imagine if we still tagged our shoes with these vintage sales tags!

Even with the heat and unbearable sun, I'm excited to mark my calendar for the next Rose Bowl Flea Market. If you're in the area definitely make a day trip out of it :). My first time was great, slightly too hot but definitely sparked some projects in my mind. I can't wait to go next month with a more solid game plan!

What did you guys do this weekend?
