These Boots Are Made for Walkin'

I'm finally home in Los Angeles after my month long travel schedule! I must say that Seychelles saved my feet the last few weeks. The Safari Boots kept my feet dry in rainy Boston, were the most comfortable walking shoes in New York, and kept me warm in windy Chicago. These boots really are perfect for any type of fall weather you might encounter. Plus the amount of compliments you will receive doesn't hurt!

A typical day during my New York trip included playing with Keiko's cat Vester. As you can see from the photos below, we became quite good friends during my stay.

Autumn.

Color Combo

This look is inspired by a true sense that Fall is here and starting to settle in. These colors represent the changing of the season and what better way to transition, than with a fabulous pair of spectator heels and a new outfit to party in.

What do you think? What's your favorite Autumn color?

Inspired By?

Mondays are hard and sometimes you need a little pick me up to get the week started. We were in the mood for creating a small dose of inspiration and decided it was good enough to share.

What would you put on your inspiration board? What starts your day off right?

A Boot Story.

Decisions, decisions. It's Fall and time to get the amazing pair of boots you so badly NEED to add to your closet. We decided to help a little bit by detailing above some of our new Fall styles. (We couldn't agree on one so we went with three!)

Seychelles in Real Life.

Working for Seychelles has many perks and besides the obvious (hello shoe addiction) we love watching as ideas and designs actually become a reality.

To take that notion a step further, it's fun to see how others style and interpret our shoes in real life. Below are some amazing examples of this. Cheers to loveliness and great shoes. ;)

Oh Sunny Day.

Amber Waves

The weather is shifting and with that comes time for the changing of our closets. (insert groan here) Although we are a bit hesitant to truly believe Summer is over, we are preparing ourselves for the seemingly long autumn/winter months, by highlighting a bunch of pop colored key items perfect for the new season.

Styled around our new WILDLIFE wedge boots; this amber story reminds us of a sunny afternoon. What does it remind you of??

New York Photo Diary

I've been in New York for the past week, and I couldn't be happier to be back in the big apple. I arrived last Thursday just in time for Fashion's Night Out, and I have another week here before I head out to Chicago. Here are some snapshots from my trip so far.

1. Fashion's Night Out at Elie Tahari with my friends Kristy and Kim.

2. A delicious pistachio cupcake from Sugar Sweet Sunshine, one of my favorite NY bakeries.

3. I had the incredible Rotisserie Duck dinner at Momofuku.

4. I went to visit my friend Eddie at his new Baohaus location and tried the new Breakfast Bao and Oyster Po Bao. The Oyster is definitely my new favorite!

5. Stopped by Soho House to check out the Wildfox Couture presentation.

6. I co-hosted a birthday dinner for my friend Keiko! Happy Birthday!

This or That?

We're having a debate in our office and want you to weigh in.  Both the Dolley and Witness are amazing shoes but we can't decide which one we love more.

We need you. Which one of the above is your favorite? Camera one, camera two...

Whitney Deal: honest-to-goodness love

Whitney Deal is one of those amazing ladies who seems capable of doing it all, and doing it wonderfully. We were lucky enough to have her and husband husband Dustin, of Oh! Darling photography, bring their Smilebooth to our Garden Party in NYC earlier this year. Aside from taking beautiful photos, Whitney also makes beautiful clothes. Today she launched a line of wedding, bridesmaid and garden party dresses right over here. They are beautifully simple with delicate details and original touches such as peter pan collars and peekaboo backs. Anyone who is planning their big day can't go wrong with one of Whitney's designs.

Seychelles Night Out.

Anna Wintour's brainchild, Fashion's Night Out was a huge success again last night. Launched as a way to make fashion a little less serious and more light-hearted, the event is now a worldwide phenomenon. (Does Anna ever misstep??)

We partook in a little city called Manhattan. Our lovely ladies strolled, danced and paraded around SOHO wearing hats fashioned with some of our newest Fall styles. We had a blast, they had a blast, you had a blast, all in the name of fashion. It's essentially the perfect evening.

Did you see us? If so we want to know all about it. Connect with us on Facebook and Twitter and send us your images and street shots. Let's keep the party going.

Bring a Jacket.

Bring a Jacket

It's the question we all ask ourselves around this time of year. Do I need to bring a jacket? Potentially yes so grab one and go. (Just make sure it flows with the rest of your outfit.)

We built this lovely look in Polyvore and styled it around our amazing THEORY boots. What do you think? Would you stroll into the Fall season wearing this?

FNO 2011 - See you in the Street.

Yes, it's happening. Seychelles will be hitting the streets (literally) for Fashion’s Night Out in a theatrical procession around Soho. The illustrious Candis Cayne will lead a line of models wearing “Philip Treacy” inspired hats created entirely out of our latest “must-have” shoe styles.

What’s in it for you? Because one can never have too many shoes, we will be offering New York’s most fashion-forward crowd discount cards for seychellesfootwear.com and many photo opportunities to click and share with us on Facebook and Twitter. It will be a must see spectacle!

Don’t let the fun stop there, please check in with us on Twitter @seychellesshoes to get updates on where you can find the procession during the evening. We’re excited to meet you!

je t'aime la musique: Asa

From the first notes of Asa's new album Beautiful Imperfection we knew we were hooked. Based in Nigeria and France, Asa blends 60s soul, blues, pop, and reggae, creating melodies that are moody and infectious. Whether she's singing in English or Yoruban, we can't get enough.

From Sea to Shining Sea

I'm doing quite a bit of traveling in the next two months. I have trips planned for New York, Chicago, and San Francisco with a couple music festivals sprinkled in as well. So in the spirit of traveling - I am going to share what I'm most excited about in each of these cities including my home Los Angeles.

Los Angeles -
FYF Fest / September 3:
Los Angeles has an amazing music scene already but it's always fun to spend a whole day devoted to music. Bands I'm most looking forward to: Broken Social Scene, Mister Heavenly, and Smith Westerns.

New York -
Gagosian Gallery: Richard Serra / September 14 - November 26:
It really is tough to pick out just one thing I'm most excited about in New York. Between Fashion Week, the restaurants, shopping, music and art there is just too much to choose from. However, one of my favorite artists, Richard Serra, will be showing at Gagosian Gallery, presenting two new sculptures. He is known for his fantastical site-specific land sculptures that intersect with the ideas of architecture, urban spaces, and landscapes.

Richard Serra - Junction (2011)

San Francisco -
Squat & Gobble:
Although I am going up to San Francisco for Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and Treasure Island Music Festival, I must admit I'm most excited to return to my hometown to eat at Squat & Gobble. I've been eating there since I was in high school. They serve a mix of comfort food and crepes, but my favorite menu item is the Upper Haight Omelette.

Squat and Gobble

Chicago -
This is my first real trip to Chicago, so I'll be exploring the city for the first time. I've done most of the tourist attractions in the short 24 hour trip I made in the past. So I'm mostly looking for the good local spots. If anyone has any tips or fun things to check out, please comment below and let me know.

Can't wait to share more of my travels with you!
